2012: I went to Sydney and stayed in a caravan with my Couchsurfing host who is an Australian aborigine. We went to Blue Mountains and explored the area looking for kangaroos.
The kangaroos were very elusive and scared of people. They'd spot you from half a mile away, and run for their lives. They are not like the tamed ones you might see in zoos, which you can pet and feed, and take photos with.
I only managed to get a glimpse of them and this was my best picture:
