2011: A very useful skill to learn if you're going to travel around Asia. Chopsticks are the cutlery of choice here.
But the real reason I learnt to use the chopsticks was to spite my ex. I had (quite rightly) assumed that he dumped me because I wasn't Chinese enough. So I took it as a personal challenge, not to win him back, but to prove to myself that I was more than what he thought I was. It was pathetic, yes, but hey I learned a new skill.
There's nothing like a heartbreak to motivate me to become a much better version of myself.
It took me a lot of practice (still practicing now), but I did it!
