Stay in a 5-Star Hotel

I have actually done this many times although I don't have pictures to prove it.

2011: This was me enjoying a bubble bath at Mandarin Oriental KL, paid by someone who probably didn't have anything better to do with his money. Everything seemed to be gilt in gold in this hotel, even in the bathroom:

Hey paparazzi, stop!

2011: Then it was Renaissance Koh Samui, my first trip abroad, sponsored by the same guy. How lovely it was to bask in luxury, though it was not a lifestyle I will ever be totally comfortable in. The fact that I didn't get there with my own hard-earned money is not something I was very proud of, but I accepted it with gratitude nevertheless, and enjoyed it while it lasted.

Of course I had to take a selfie
And another.
Changed into a bathrobe to prepare for a massage at the spa.

2011: In Krabi, my second trip abroad. I forgot the name of the hotel, definitely a 5-star, also paid by the same person.

2014: Pre-New Year Eve, I had a slumber party with my colleagues at Renaissance KL because one of them had a discount coupon, and we all chipped in to pay the rest of the bill. We ordered pizza, and played card games throughout the night. The next day we went to the sauna, jacuzzi and pool (pictures not shown).

5-star hotels, if it were up to me, are really not worth the money. Glamorous yes, but to spend half of my salary just to have a gold washbasin? I'd rather use it to buy tickets for my next vacations.
